Navigation Display (ND)
The Navigation display may show several formats. The respective Nav Control Panel allows the flight crew to select the ND format.

On each ND format, there are some standard features. These are :

At the top left of each navigation displays there is the ground speed (GS), True air speed (TAS) and the wind direction and speed. The wind direction is shown with 3 digits always ( eg 005, 040, 123 ). An arrow under the wind direction and speed gives an indication of the direction relative to the aircraft’s heading.
The selected VOR or ADF is indicated on the Rose and Arch displays. The relative naiv aid is shown in blue, with a pointer indicating the bearing to it from the aircraft’s current position.

The navaid is selected on the RAD NAV page of the MCDU. It may be selected manually (M) or automatically by the FMGC ( A ) . On the Nav Control panel two switches provide the flight crew with th e ability to display the selected VOR, or the selected ADF or none.
These pointers are for the bearing to the e selected nav aid only. The VOR display may be used to view the deviation if a course is entered in the MCDU RAD NAV page.
At the top right of the ROSE, ARCH displays, the TO waypoint information is shown. This the the name of the waypoint, the distance and the expected time of arrival (ETA, in UTC ) at the waypoint.
The TO waypoint is the next waypoint in the flight plan the aircraft is flying towards.
