Auto Brakes

The Auto brakes are controlled from the Brake and Steering Control Unit (BSCU). The Unit takes in wheel speed and controls the application of brake force to each wheel.

The Auto brakes are armed by selecting either the LO, MED or MAX Auto brake push buttons on the landing gear panel.

The Auto Brake selection is indicated on the wheels system display page.

The Auto Brake selection is also indicated in the take off memo or landing memo that is shown on the EWD ECAM

The Auto Brakes are activated for a rejected take off when :

The brakes have two modes, primary and alternate. The primary system uses the green hydraulic supply and has anti skid, the alternate uses the Blue hydraulic system. The blue hydraulic system supply also pressurizes the blue accumulators which can provide braking in the event of no hydraulic supply pressure of blue and green.
