The Reposition dialog us accessible from the Reposition button on the left hand side of the main program. The Reposition dialog allows the user to reposition the simulated aircraft to some fixed positions.
Repositions
This reposition simply drops the aircraft to the ground from its current position.
On Ground
This reposition simply places the aircraft at 5000 ft in the air above its current position. This may be useful if no joystick is attached. It would allow the aircraft to be placed into the air and after the reposition has completed, the A/P and A/THR may be engaged.
In Air
This reposition sets the aircraft at the take off position of the selected departure runway. It is only available once the departure runway has been entered into the route via the MCDU.
It is recommended to use this reposition when this simulation is not utilized with a visual system, so that a normal take off may be performed.
Take off
This reposition sets the aircraft at the position of the first cruise way point. It is only available when the full route has been entered into the MCDU and a T/C way point has been computed
T/C reposition
This reposition sets the aircraft just before the T/D way point. It is only available when the full route has been entered into t he MCDU and a T/D way point has been computed
T/D reposition
Once the reposition has been selected, the details are shown along side the Confirm and Cancel button.
Pressing the cancel button returns the user to the main program without a reposition taking place.
Pressing the Confirm button returns the user to the main program and the reposition is then activated.
When a reposition is being performed the simulation changes state to the Resetting State.
At the end of the reset, the simulation is left in the Position Freeze state.
This reposition sets the aircraft at any of the cruise waypoints in the flight plan. The waypoint may be selected from a drop down menu. Once the reposition has been performed, a DIR TO should be used to continue with the rest of the flight plan.
