The flight crew may update the FM position using this facility. It will re initialize the FMGC position to that of the waypoint entered at the time when the LSK  3R is pressed.

The required accuracy varies dependant upon the flight phase.

The accuracy state indicates the navigational accuracy of the FMGS. This may be “HIGH” or “LOW”.

The estimated accuracy value displays the current estimated navigation accuracy (EPE) as computed by the FMGS

The waypoint identifier is written in the scratchpad and then selected into the update line using LSK   3L .

When the aircraft is overhead the waypoint, the flight crew may press LSK  3R to initialize the FMGC position.

This is not a highly accurate position set, so the flight crew should use this facility with caution, especially if the aircraft is traveling at a high ground speed.
