The A330 simulation offers the following malfunctions for the Electrical system :

IDG 1 Low Pressure

When selected the associated IDG will loose oil pressure and the fault will be indicated on the ECAM. Following the ECAM action, the IDG should be disconnected. Once disconnected the IDG can only be reconnected on the ground. For the purposes of simulation, however, the IDG can be re-connected in flight.

IDG 2 Low Pressure

Loss of one AC generation causes the electrical system to automatically re-configure. If both malfunctions are activated, the aircraft would be put into an emergency configuration.

Electric System Malfunctions

IDG 1 Overheat

When selected the associated IDG will begin to heat up, until the fault is activated on the ECAM. The IDG will begin to cool when the it is taken off line, and may be re-selected when the overheating has stopped However if the malfunction is still active, the overheating will begin again.

IDG 2 Overheat

Gen 2 Overload

When selected the generator loading will start to increase, until the fault is activated on the ECAM. The actions by the flight crew allow the loading to resume to below 100% by taking the galley and/or Commercial power off line.
