Single engine Max continuous thrust

THR CLB

Climb thrust two engines

THR LVR

Undermined thrust

THR IDLE

Minimum thrust

SPEED

IAS speed mode

MACH

Mach mode

RETARD

Idle thrust at touch down

Thrust Lock

If the A/THR should be disconnected for any reason, whilst the thrust levers are in the CL ( or MCT detent for single engine), the FADECs lock the thrust settings, until the flight crew take action by adjusting the thrust levers. This is the Thrust Lock function.

When  the Thrust Lock function is activated, the following indications occur:

THR LK in amber flashes on the FMA

ENG THRUST LOCKED

The ECAM displays:

THR LEVERS .... MOVE

  flashes every 5 seconds

The ECAM displays

A single chime sounds and the master caution light flashes every 5 seconds

Moving the thrust levers out of the CL ( or MCT ) detent cancels the warnings, and disengages the Thrust Lock function, providing the flight crew with full manual control of the engine’s thrust.

Alpha Floor

If the Alpha Floor Protection is activated, then the A/THR sets the thrust to TOGA irrespective of the thrust lever position, or wether the A/THR was engaged or not.

The FAC computes the alpha floor protection state and provides Alpha Floor protection from lift off to 100 feet radio altitude in approach.

When the Alpha Floor conditions have been passed, the A/THR is set into a TOGA Thrust Lock. The TOGA LK remains until the A/THR is disconnected Disconnecting the A/THR is the only way to cancel the Alpha Floor and TOGA Thrust Lock modes.

Alpha Floor in amber and A Locked for the slats is shown when in Alpha Floor conditions.

The A/THR operating mode is display in the first column of the FMA
