The ECAM displays of the EWD and SD are normally fed data from the DMC 3. There is a ECAM DMC knob to the right of the Captains ND which allows the ECAM displays to be fed data fro DMC 1 or DMC 2. If the knob is in the Auto position, then loss of DMC 3 will automatically switch the data feed to DMC 1. If the knob is in the DMC 3 position then there is no automatic reversion to DMC 1.

Located underneath the ECAM DMC knob is a display selector knob. This allows the SD to be displayed on the Captains or F/Os ND display unit.

The EWD has display priority over the System Display (SD). If the EWD display unit is lost, or switched of, the SD display unit then displays the EWD data. This is also the case if the ECAM DU knob is selected to the captain’s or F/O’s ND.

By holding down a system display page button on the ECAM display panel, the flight crew can temporarily display the required system display page instead of the EWD.  The EWD display resumes when the button is released, or after 3 minutes.
