Cruise

 

 

 

 

The cruise flight can be changed immediately by changing the FCU altitude.

 

If the FCU altitude is selected above the CRZ FL, then the CRZ FL is updated on the progress page, and the new FCU altitude becomes the target cruise altitude for the FMGS.

 

If the FCU altitude is select below the current CRZ FL, then a new cruise flight level on the progress page is set, so long as the aircraft is more than 200 NM from destination. If the aircraft is less than 200 NM to the destination a descent is initiated.

During the cruise phase. It is possible to jump to any of the cruise waypoints, using the reposition dialog.  A DIR TO will be required after the reposition to re-instate the flight plan.
