Air conditioning : Cargo

The cargo air conditioning is very similar to the cabin ‘s air conditioning. The cargo are are split into 3 zones, Forward , Aft and Bulk. Each zone has a slight different air conditioning arrangement.

Forward Cargo

Extraction Fan

Isolation Valve

Cargo Ventilation Controller

Hot air from Pre Cooler 1

Cabin Air

Cold air from PACK 1

Cabin air enters the forward cargo zone to pressurize the cargo area. The Cabin air can be mixed with cold air from PACK 1 to reduce the temperature. The Cabin air may also be mixed with hot bleed air to increase the temperature. The right overhead cargo ventilation panel allows the flight crew to set the cargo temperature for the zone. A Cargo Ventilation Controller controls the various valves to archive the required temperature

Aft Cargo

Cold air from PACK 1

The aft cargo air condition system is similar to the forward cargo air conditioning system, except that it has not Hot air input and no flight crew temperature or cold air control.

Bulk  Cargo

Bulk Cargo

Cabin Air

The bulk cargo air conditioning uses cabin air mixed with heated air from an electrical heater to achieve the required temperature. The required temperature is set bt the flight crew on the right overhead panel
