The expedite does not arm

 

5 sec after lift off

Pressing the EXPED button on the FCU

The expedite mode exists on the A320 aircraft. The A330 has an ALT Hold button in the same place on the FCU. The expedite mode is an open climb/descent mode that allows the aircraft to climb or descend at the greatest vertical radiant.

 

The expedite mode is available to  the flight crew when

 

The expedite mode is activated by

 

Selecting another vertical mode, or ALT* mode engaging

Pulling the SPD knob on the FCU to select another speed

The expedite mode is deactivated by:

 

Selecting an FCU altitude above the current aircraft’s altitude when in EXPED DES

Selecting an FCU altitude below the current aircraft’s altitude when in EXPED CLB

The expedite mode engages in a climb at the Green Dot speed if the FCU altitude is above the current aircraft’s altitude at mode engagement.

 

The expedite mode engages in a descent at the VMO/MMO speed if the FCU altitude is below the current aircraft’s altitude at mode engagement.
