Home.Cockpit.Aircraft Systems.Worked Example.Program Controls.Before Flight.

The quick start dialog allows the user to select a system or all systems for a quick start, alignment , warm up etc.

Each system must be in a correct state to be started. For example the fast alignment of the ADIRU can only take place if the ADIRUs are electrically powered and the mode knobs are in NAV.

The cockpit quick start, only works for the stand alone PC version. The full cockpit version will allow the cockpit controls to override any selection here.

Quick Start

ADIRU

Pressing this button, allows the ADIRU to quickly align itself with the current position oft he aircraft. It will cause the ND Map display to become active and remove any FAIL flags from the PFD. As with other quick starts, simulated electrical power must have been set on first.

Engines

Pressing this button, allows the engines to quickly reach a stable idle running condition. The Engine master switches must be set Up for this quick start to function.

APU

Pressing this button, allows the APU to quickly reach a stable idle running condition.

Cockpit

Pressing this button, allows the cockpit buttons, switches, levers etc, to be set in their nominal position ready for flight. Note that this quick start is only for the PC simulation as the hardware cockpit positions will immediately override, when using the actual cockpit simulator.

All

Pressing this button, sequences all the above quick starts in turn. It is possible that this button may need to be pressed several times to ensure that all systems are ruining and nominal.
