PACKS system Operation

Packs

The PACKs are regulated by a PACK controller.  The flight crew interface is limited to control of the PACK flow and to switch the PACKS on and Off.

For each PACK, there is an On/Off button on the overhead Air panel. The On/Off button controls the PACK inlet valve. Note that this valve is automatically controlled from the PACK controller as well.

For both PACKs, there is a Flow level Knob. This knob allows the PACKS to function with low, Normal or Full flow rates. Lower flow rates saves fuel, but may not be enough to provide adequate air conditioning for a full passenger load.
