Take Off Performance page

There is a performance page for each flight phase of the FMGS. The Performance page is directly accessed from the Direct Page access keys. When the FMGS is in the Pre flight phase.

The performance values entered here relate to the take off phase of the aircraft. They are the V speeds and the altitudes for FMGS mode changes.

The V speeds are required for the FMGS SRS mode. Without a V2 speed entry there is no SRS mode available for take off.

The Thrust reduction altitude sequences the FMGS from SRS mode to the Climb mode.

V1

THR RED

Manually entered V1 speed. It appears as a “1” on the speed tape during the take off roll

This is the trust reduction altitude. It is manually entered. The minimum value is 400 ft above the runway. At this altitude the FMGS changes from SRS mode to Climb. “THR LEVER”  appears flashing on the A/T FMA to request the flight crew t o move the throttles the CL detent.

ACC

This is the acceleration altitude where the aircraft will accelerate towards the climb speed. It cant not be less than the thrust reduction altitude. It is manually entered

ENG OUT

This is the engine out acceleration altitude manually entered by the flight crew.

FLAPS/THS

This is only for reference. The flight crew may enter the take off flap setting and Tail horizontal stabilizer value here

VR

Manually entered rotation speed, which appears as a green circle on the speed tape during the take of roll

V2

Manually entered V2 speed. This is the FMGS target speed shown in magenta on the speed tape. The SRS mode will hold this speed + 10 Knots on the take off climb out.

All entries except the V speeds have initial default values. Flap, Slat and clean values are not modifiable.

FLEX

If the flight crew enter a value here, it will allow the Flex T/O N1 setting to be utilized. Instead of MCT value on the A/T FMA, there will be a FLEX annunciation followed by the value entered here.

ACARS call to load T.O values from external source

Calls up a the next performance page, CLIMB

Note on the PC simulation there is no external ACARS functionality. So there is no uplink T/O data available
