Flight Preparation Check Nominal Values
When the aircraft has been supplied with AC electrical the flight crew may check the various systems to ensure that they have nominal values for fluid quantities etc.
Hydraulic fluid levels
Fuel system
The hydraulic fluid quantities are shown on the hydraulic system page on the SD. The level indicators should be within the normal filling range ( the green rectangle ).
Normally the aircraft would be re-
In the A330 simulation, the Weights dialog must be accessed to set up the aircraft fuel load.
If the route has already been entered into the MCDU and the performance parameters have been computed ( cruise altitude, speeds etc), then the weights dialog will show the flight plan range.
The amount of fuel required can then observed by matching the approximate range to the route range.
Selecting the Ground Refueling button, will produce a slow refueling simulation similar to that observed at the Gate. Otherwise the system defaults to a a fast refueling which only last a few seconds.

Engines
Select the DOORS System Page on the System Display. The Doors page shows the oxygen pressure value. Oxygen refill is necessary if the value is shown in amber.
Select the Engines System Page on the System Display. The Engines system page shows the Oil quantities for the engines.

If the FADECs are powered off, there is a maintenance button at the top of the overhead panel. Here, electrical power can be switched on for the FADECs so that the oil quantity values can be observed. Note that this maintenance panel area is beyond the simulated cockpit area in the A330 PC simulation. Another method for observing the oil quantity is to select the engine start knob to IGN. This also powers the FADECs. Note that the engine system page returns to the Doors page within 10 seconds, because the engines start sequence has not begun.
