Air Data Inertial Reference Unit (ADIRU)

The A330 has 3 identical ADIRUs. They are numbered 1, 2 and 3. Each ADIRU contains an Air Data Reference unit and an Inertial Reference unit. These units are separate and a failure of one will not cause a failure of the other.

Normally the ADIRU 1 supplies data to the Captains displays and ADIRU 2 supplies data to the F/Os displays. Either set of displays can receive its data from ADIRU 3 via the EFIS switching panel.
