Brake Fan cooling

Manual braking is archived by pressing the top of the rudder pedals. Manual braking causes the auto brake to disarm, if it had been engaged.

Manual braking is available if there is blue hydraulic accumulator pressure, ( shown on the triple indicator) or if green hydraulic pressure is available.

If the wheel temperatures exceed 300 degrees C, they are displayed in amber on the wheels system page. The wheel with the highest temperature is indicated by an amber arch.

The wheel temperatures are displayed in green when they are in an acceptable range. The wheel with the highest temperature, if over 100 degrees C is shown with a green arch.

On some aircraft, there is a brake cooling fan fitted. Activation of these fans is via a push button on the landing gear panel.
