Initialize Aircraft to an Airport

The Airport Initialization dialog sets up the departing ( Origin) airport position, terrain altitude and OAT

The departure ( Origin) airport may be selected by using a drop down list, or by writing in the ICAO code

Alternately, the Actual ICAO entry may be used to select an airport using the ICAO code, insert it the edit box. After which the “Initialize A/C position button may be pressed

To confirm the selection and initialize the simulated aircraft at that airport, select the button marked “Initialize A/C Position|”

Note ::

This airport will be the staring point (the origin airport) of the flight. It is important to set the initial position correctly, as all MCDU positional computation for the entered flight plan will make use of the aircraft’s position. If this is not set correctly, then the route distances, fuel predictions and time predictions will not be sensible.
