Air Panel : Air conditioning

 

The controls for the air  conditioning are on the overhead air panel. They consist of the temperature controls and the hot air inlet valve buttons.

 

Hot Air buttons

Associated Hot Air valve opens to allow hot air from the bleed to be used

Temperature knob

PACK flow set to low flow rate, suitable for when there are few passengers

PACK flow set to Normal flow rate

PACK flow set to High flow rate, required when the aircraft is in very hot climatic conditions

.

Note that when the APU is supplying the bleed air, the PACK flow is set to High regardless of this knob setting

HI

 

The temperature knob has 7 position from 18 deg C (coldest setting) to 30 deg C for the Hottest setting. The mid point is 24 deg C.

 

There is a temperature knob for the cockpit and one for the cabin. Note that the cabin staff can also modify the cabin’s three zones (Forward, Middle and Aft ), from their cabin equipment.
