Final Cockpit Preparation

The aircraft is at Stand 27 at Manchester Airport. It has 63.8 tons of fuel on board, and 357 passengers giving it a total gross weight of 221.800 Tons. The Company route GCCMCOA7 has been entered into the MCDU and the cockpit has been prepared for the flight.

It is mid morning and the weather is wet with a little  wind. The departure this morning will be from Runway 24R using the Wallasey 1 R SID.

V Speeds

V1

137 Knots

VR

147 Knots

V2

152 Knots

Select the PERF key on the MCDU and enter the V speeds into the PERF TO page.

As an example, type 137 into the scratchpad and then press the left LSK button at Row 1 (LSK 1L). This enters 127 into the V1 boxes.

Takeoff Altitudes

Thrust Reduction

1750 ft

Acceleration

2750 ft

Engine Out

2750

Select the PERF key on the MCDU and enter the altitudes into the PERF TO page.

As an example, type /2750 into the scratchpad and then press the left LSK button at Row 5 (LSK 5L). This enters 2750 into the Acceleration Altitude filed. Note the use of the slash to signify that it is the second entry here. Without the slash, it would have been entered as the thrust reduction altitude

Other Take Off Data

On the PERF TO page, enter the Take off Stab and flap settings.

Enter 2/4.2 into the scratchpad and insert using LSK 3R

This is for  flight crew information only, the FMGS does not actually use this data in the performance calculations, but reads the flap and stab settings directly.

On the PERF TO page, enter the Flex Temperature setting for De rate -1

Enter 43 into the scratchpad and insert using LSK 4R

This gives the FADECs a Flex N1 take of setting instead of max thrust.
