Program Controls

 

 

The A330 simulation is a windows real time simulation of the A330 aircraft. Like many other simulation, there are a number windows dialog buttons that may be used to control various aspects of the simulation.

On the left hand side of the program there is a set of buttons that allow the user to control the aspects of the simulation.

IOS

 

 

RUN/PAUSE button

System reset button

Malfunctions button

A traditional simulator has an Instructor Operator System (IOS) where the simulation is controlled. These set of functions allow the user to manage the simulation.

This button pauses or runs the simulation. To check the running state of the simulator, the simulation state is indicated immediately above.

Following a reposition, or initial start or a cleared malfunction, some of the aircraft systems may be in a latched failed state. This is quite normal. To ensure that the simulation is clear of all latched states, the system Reset button may be pressed

The simulation allows for some malfunctions so that system failure procedures may be familiarized. If any malfunction is active, then a red LED light is illuminated to warn the user.

Repositions button

These set of buttons set up the simulation starting point. They are the position of the aircraft, and its Zero Fuel Weight (ZFW) and fuel state. In addition, there is a Reposition button that allows a reposition of the aircraft during the simulation.

Controls

 

 

The PC simulation has the ability to integrate a joy stick. The Joy stick button is used to facilitate the attachment of the joy stick. If no joy stick is attached the LED remains Gray, If a joy stick is attached the LED is Blue, and if the joystick is moved and giving commands, the LED is green.

At the bottom of the program dialog, there is a set of program timings to indicate the health of the program.
