Cockpit Hardware
First Hardware panel integrated to the A320 PC simulation. The I/O is via a USB using a virtual comm port on one side, and Windows shared memory on the other.
The hardware comes from fscockpit.eu , interfacing software was developed in house by D. Browne
The set up does not require any 3rd party software. The only modification required is for virtual comm ports for Windows XP. Which is a one off download from FTDI Chip to set a USB port into a virtual comm port.
ARDUINO Interfacing
The simulated A330 program running on the Windows XP computer interacts with the physical Hardware Landing Gear/Auto Brake panel through our I/O interfacing software and the Arduino I/O board. The A320 Brake panel is used here , but the interface mechanism is the same.
